Rabbits are very active and playful

Filed under: Pets — admin @ 10:17 am

It is important to make sure that his hutch is well build. Rabbits are very active and playful so a well built room for him is necessary. The floor of the rabbit hutch should never be made of wire or any other material that bunny can get his feet caught in. Wire floors, in particular, are very uncomfortable on a rabbit’s feet. Smooth floors are much easier on the rabbit’s feet and easy to clean.

Hutches made of wood are durable, but are tempting for rabbits to chew on. If you find that happens, simply spray bitter apple spray on the wood. This will typically stop the chewing.

Rabbits are pretty clean

Filed under: Pets — admin @ 8:22 am

But because wire floors can irritate rabbits’ feet, any wire floor should not have spacing more than 1/2″ x 1″ and something (wood, towel, several layers of newspaper) solid to provide the bunny’s feet a rest from the wire floor. Keep in mind that rabbits are pretty clean and if a litter box is supplied a solid floored rabbit cage should be fine.

Easy access for rabbit and supplies – ideally the rabbit should easily be able to get in and out of the cage on his or her own. Failing that, you should be able to get your rabbit out if necessary. Also keep in mind that you’ll want to be able to get a litter pan in and out of the cage, and easily be able to access food dishes and water bottles for maintenance.

Choose a roomy wire cage

Filed under: Pets — admin @ 2:24 pm

The minimum size wire cage should be at about four times the size of the rabbit, so if your rabbit is going to be larger, you will want to choose a roomy wire rabbit cage. You will also need to consider room for a variety of cage accessories and enough space for a litter area, a sleeping area, a feeding area, and a play area. One of my favorite roomy wire rabbit cages is the Super Pet Large Welcome Home Hutch by Super Pet. This wire cage has lots of room for your rabbit to roam and plenty of area for all of the rabbit accessories that you will need.

A knock down cage would be even more ideal

Filed under: Pets — admin @ 4:38 pm

Wire and stainless steel carriers are great for bigger parrots who have very big beaks. They can break the travel birds cages right away if given a chance. For smaller birds, a light mesh bird carrier is the best since it is not difficult to carry. A knock down cage would be even more ideal because now you will have more room in the house.

Don’t forget to put a perch in the bird carrier. Your pet is not going to have a lot of fun navigating the bottom of the cage. You should use perches that are rougher on the surface so that your parrot will not slip.

Considering a portable play stand

Filed under: Pets — admin @ 4:37 pm

You may also consider a portable play stand depending on where you are going. If you’re going to stay at any place for a certain time, small bird play stands are great for carrying it around on the road and still be able to offer the parrot sometime to hang outside of the birds cages and have fun.

Always research thoroughly before you make a decision on purchasing the travel bird cages. But these carriers would make it much on your parrot and yourself. Now you can have fun and travel without any worries. Remember, sometimes the carrier will sway a bit as you’re carrying it along to different places.

Cleaning up waste in your rabbit’s cage

Filed under: Pets — admin @ 4:30 pm

When cleaning up waste in your rabbit cage, use a litter scoop for removal. Litter scoops are designed to easily pick-up litter and make cleaning waste much easier.
After the waste has been removed, replace the litter with fresh litter if your rabbit uses a litter box and wipe the cage clean with warm soapy water.
Once the cage has been cleaned, you may want to give your rabbit some fresh water and some food or a treat. While you are cleaning out the cage, let your rabbit have some play time in the house or in an outdoor playpen to make the experience more enjoyable for your rabbit.

Some people think that getting an outdoor cat tree is downright outrageous. They say that it is just an awful waste of money and it will not result to anything good since cats only stay indoors. Although it is really quite expensive to have an indoor cat tree as well as an outdoor cat tree, they seem to be missing out on a lot of points that having an outdoor cat tree can help them with. Here are some of them.

Cats would always want to go outside. All animals, even the most domesticated pets want to commune and play with nature at some point during the day. It is in their genetic make up, their instinct. This is why providing them a nice and safe place to play outside the house if very important. This is where outdoor cat trees can be very helpful.

There is no way on earth that pet owners can stop their cats from climbing trees. Cats have to be one of the pets that are most likely to get stuck on top of a tree. This is because cats are masters when it comes to climbing trees. Climbing down on the other hand is a completely different story. By getting an outdoor cat tree, cats will not have to climb another tree ever again. Pet owners will also save themselves the trouble of calling animal rescue every other week.

Cats like to go outside for a number of reasons, not just to play. One of the most important reasons that all cat owners should take note of is that cats need some sun exposure. They also need to get out of the house every once in a while to get rid of boredom and suffocation. owning a parrot become a most enjoyable experience

Filed under: Pets — admin @ 7:29 pm

With smaller parrots, if the cage bars have a gap of more than half an inch, it may be big enough for the bird to poke its head or feet out and get stuck in between. Cages should not have any sharp items, which could impale or injure the bird within. To that extent, even decorative works with loops, holes, or sharp edges have to be avoided in the doors and roofs of cages to prevent the caged birds body parts getting caught in between, or getting injured by sharp edges. Main doors of cages should be big enough to facilitate easy cleaning. But there should be smaller openings in the birds cages for placing and removing the birds water bowl and food bowl. With the right type of parrot cages, owning a parrot would become a most enjoyable experience.
