I am really worried because i heard that a comet is gonna destroy earth dec. 21, 2012 is this true

It is fake. The chances of a comet impacting Earth in 2012 are very close to zero. There is no known comet expected to impact Earth in 2012 or within the next century. The table at the source link shows all known impact risks for the next 100 years. The asteroid Apophis has a 1 in 45,000 chance of impact in 2036. That is about the same as your risk in any given year of being killed while crossing a street. Your one-year odds of dying in a car accident are about one out of 6500 (about 7 times the chance of Apophis impacting Earth).

Then, when you consider the size of Apophis (only 330 meters), it would cause regional destruction if it hit, not extinction.

Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.

"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus’ advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

I don’t necessarily mean the earth will be destroyed and it’ll be the end for us all. So Im NOT really asking about a doomsday…

but rather if a comet is just nearing earth?
If so, is Nasa worried about it?

So I guess the real question is do we have time to get people to stop hating and start loving one another and to enlighten everyone to their true potential. For little is it known but the human being is indeed a special creature capable of Godlike Potential. So what I AM Saying is if man could be taught how to cure himself of any disease also to teleport to any location instantaneously making the world a much smaller place and universe for thet matter. Could Man put down hate and pick up love, knowing that he has these powers and seeing his true self will he continue to destroy himself and his planet or will he embrace love and stop the looming disaster thru combined mind power alone. I for one think he can make his stand and that he doesn’t have to go down at each others throats but can stand and not fall. I think he as one race can deflect the comet so as it passes safely by instead of destroying us once and for all. All the weapons of mass destruction wont work do u think this will?

Hopefully one day people will stop hating each other for the minor differences between them.
